Have you seen any of the trucks featured in these old photos? Do you recognize the truck your uncle insists on keeping in his backyard? Or have you seen one at your local dealer? Then you could be the hero we are looking for!
Koelhuis is on the hunt for a classic DAF truck. Back when the building was a freezing warehouse, these impressive trucks featured state-of-the-art technology that helped Campina bring ice cream, one of its most popular products, to the Dutch tables.
Nowadays, Koelhuis Eindhoven, through its Koelhuis Eindhoven Industrial Heritage Foundation, is working to preserve the heritage of the building by tracking down pieces of its history and telling the fascinating stories hidden by its mysterious concrete façade. Our quest for a vintage DAF truck is part of this mission.
Will you help us locate one of these mechanical beauties? Anyone providing valid leads and useful information about the whereabouts of a vintage DAF truck of the models listed below (dead or alive,… that is to say: in working conditions or not) will be rewarded with a limited edition Koelhuis tote bag filled with surprises. Please note: not all submissions will be rewarded. If your tip helps us find the truck , we will get in touch via e-mail to ask for your details.
The models we are looking for: DAF 7 streper, DAF A1600 Front, DAF A1600, DAF FA1600, DAF FA 2000, DAF FAS2000, DAF FT2003 or any other historically relevant DAF trucks.

GEZOCHT, DAF OLDTIMER TRUCK VOOR HET KOELHUIS EINDHOVEN!
Heb je één van de trucks op deze oude foto’s ergens gezien? Staat er toevallig een in de achtertuin van je oom? Of heb je er een bij de lokale autohandelaar gezien? Dan ben jij de held die we zoeken!
Koelhuis Eindhoven wordt de nieuwe locatie voor hedendaagse cultuur & nieuwe mediakunst en is gevestigd in het voormalig Campina Vrieshuis. Wij zijn opzoek naar een klassieke DAF truck. Waarom? Toen het pand nog een vrieshuis was, werden de vrachtwagens (die voorzien waren van de modernste (koel)techniek) ingezet om om Campina ijs op de Nederlandse tafels te krijgen.
Tegenwoordig werkt Koelhuis Eindhoven via de Stichting Koelhuis Industrial Heritage aan het behoud van het erfgoed van het gebouw door stukken van de geschiedenis op te sporen en de fascinerende verhalen te vertellen die verscholen zijn achter de mysterieuze muren van het Koelhuis.
Kan jij ons helpen met het vinden van één van deze mechanische schoonheden? Voor degene met tips of nuttige informatie over waar wij één van de DAF trucks(klaar voor de sloop of split splinter nieuw) die we hieronder opsommen, zouden kunnen vinden, ligt een limited edition Koelhuis tas klaar gevuld met verrassingen. Let op: niet alle inzendingen worden beloond. Als jouw tips ons verder brengen in de zoektocht naar een DAF truck, nemen wij contact met jou op via e-mail.
De modellen die we zoeken zijn: DAF 7 streper, DAF A1600 Front, DAF FA1600, DAF FA 2000, DAF FAS2000, DAF FT2003, of andere historisch relevante DAF trucks die werden ingezet voor IJS-transport.
